The nexMPI COST Action is pleased to invite you to the next webinar in its webinar series, which will take place on Monday, 9 March 2026 at 17:00 CET.
The webinar will be delivered by Sefa Karaca, Senior Design Engineer at ASELSAN and Ph.D. candidate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Bilkent University. His research focuses on advanced biomedical imaging technologies, particularly Magnetic Particle Imaging (MPI) and Low-Field MRI, including hardware design and signal processing for MPI, magnetic hyperthermia, and magnetic particle spectroscopy systems.
In the talk titled “Hybrid MPI–MRI Scanner: Open-Sided Magnetic Particle Imaging and Low-Field MRI,” Sefa Karaca will present the development of a hybrid MPI and low-field MRI scanner. The webinar will introduce the design of the team’s open-sided field-free-line MPI scanner, explain the integration of low-field MRI functionality, and present results from phantom studies demonstrating simultaneous imaging with a 50 mT MRI field and a 0.35 T/m MPI gradient.
